Art Internship
Victoria Yeung
Drawing has always been my biggest passion and I enjoy the time drawing with others too. Therefore when I knew there is an opportunity to teach children drawing, I accepted without hesitation. I have a sister who is 10 years younger than me so I believe I am able to handle little children. I like watching them draw objects that exist in their mind and how those objects look like through the children’s drawing. The teaching experience was really fun, therefore I might try teaching older children in the future.

Drawing is one of my way to express myself, by showing a artwork or drawing to the others for me is better than telling others what am I thinking about language. Drawing is also challenging, as I need to think of different ideas everytime when I want, I challenging for my creatively. I want more children able to express themselves, not just give up every time when they can't express themselves. Therefore, I decided to teach them this useful and fun skill.

Being an art student myself, I believe that the best thing that art can do, is to express one self. By teaching our younger generation the basic skills of drawings, they can then draw out their desired image that exists only in their minds. Each and one of their art is unique to them, and to this city. Their art actually surprised me how inspiring they can be. No matter what age they are, they were able to think 'out of the box'. Hong Kong is said to be a cultural desert, I really hope that this city will evolve and change into an "Art City".
Tin Na Mak
Being in Art City allows us to be creative and think out of the box. I think this is a really worthwhile experience as it allows me to realize that I like worker and helping with younger kids and this activities allows me to understand more about little kids and to work collaboratively and efficiently with our instructor and other helpers. From this activity it also reminds me that I have a passion towards drawing and painting although I didn't take any art related course in IB and that I have the ability to teach youngers kids since they find that I am really approachable and sometimes really fun to be with.

I am the representative of the Tuesdays after school lesson. In my class most of the student in kindergarten which I found it is quite difficult to communicate with them properly.Even though, I have been a "teacher" before in the CASH project to year 7 kids. But when i teaching those in age 2-4 which I think is a great challenge for me as I am not good at working with Children. The first lesson I met them I think it is quite embarrassing as I don't understand what they are talking about most of the time. By teaching them I learnt more in art as we need to thought about what can we teach them and what kind of new technique can be teach. I always research in internet see whether there are anything interesting or new that can be use in the course.
