I am originally from Japan and previously lived in China and Mauritius before coming to Hong Kong. I hold a BA (Hons) Art in Textile design from The Tsing Hua University of Art and Design, Beijing. I also have a teaching certificate in Kimono Yuzen Design from Nihon Kimono Gakuyin, Japan. My Art has a delicate textile pattern mixed with a colourful tropical pallet. I taught Japanese and Art to early childhood & primary students in Beijing and Mauritius. This has enabled me to inspire and help students explore their creativity while developing their fine motor skills.
Hiroki has been my main source of inspiration and motivation. Through him I have rediscovered passion in my art making. I now look around me with new eyes, and wish to share this beautiful and wondrous outlook on life and all things with others.
All my paintings revolve around my family, particularly my son. I focus on the multitude of emotions that Hiroki conveys whether on his face, or exuding from the atmosphere surrounding him. Bright, colourful and intricate patterns also feature prominently in my paintings, which I have drawn influence from my 6 year long stay in Mauritius and from my Textiles design background.
